Puerto Rico
Our Focus
Bold Hope is bringing our mission trip program to Puerto Rico, partnering with local churches that are already serving their own neighborhoods. As a US territory with deep ties to the mainland, Puerto Rico carries real, everyday needs alongside its natural beauty. A trip here means walking through doors that local pastors and ministry leaders have already opened, and serving a community alongside the people who know it best.

Demographics
Puerto Rican identity blends TaĆno, Spanish, and West African heritage. Most of the island's people live around San Juan and the coastal lowlands; the mountainous interior is far less populated. Many younger Puerto Ricans have moved to the mainland, leaving a growing number of older adults without nearby family.
Economy
Puerto Rico is a US territory that uses the US dollar. Its economy centers on manufacturing, services, and tourism, and it is still recovering from a long fiscal crisis and the 2017 hurricanes; food and everyday costs on the island are noticeably higher than on the mainland.
